Achieving Writing Proficiency is designed to help intermediate and middle school teachers prepare their students to succeed in standardized writing assessments.  The two-day Achieving Writing Proficiency workshop helps teachers gain knowledge about their stat writing standards and assessments.

Achieving Writing Proficiency was developed by Connie Prevatte to help teachers teach writing, use of graphic organizers and use appropriate language for each genre.  Teaching writing strategies include pre-writing, note taking, revision and editing.

  • Day 1- Modeled lessons with questions and answers session.

  • Day 2- Small group or grade-level planning sessions (requires substitute teacher)
